Gender-Responsive Just Transition Experiences in Zimbabwe

This paper seeks to provide a better understanding of the gender dynamics of climate change and a
low-carbon transition in Zimbabwe in order to develop gender-responsive just transition interventions
across all sectors of the economy. Such interventions must fully incorporate the human rights of women
and girls in just transition efforts, including through social dialogue to promote gender-responsive
investments in climate action that provide for the full, equal and meaningful participation and leadership
of all women and girls. The paper also seeks to influence to National Budget to ensure that it mainstreams
Just Transition through the allocation of public resources towards Just Transition interventions.
